Atisha Centre is a Tibetan Buddhist meditation centre, providing opportunities for study and practice of a spiritual path, where people can develop their natural wisdom and compassion.
Each Sunday morning, starting at 10:00am, a senior student leads a one hour session of guided meditation. These meditations are perfect for beginners, including those with no experience with meditation whatsoever. This is an excellent opportunity just to sit with your mind in a peaceful and relaxed atmosphere.
◊ Everyone can learn the basics of meditation and benefit from it. People of all faiths or no faith, and people from any religion are most welcome to attend; ◊ There is no set charge for the classes, but any donation goes towards covering the costs of running the Centre;
As with many of our events and activities at Atisha Centre we rely of the generosity of visitors and members to help cover facility fees, through donations.

Using commentaries from different Buddhist texts and drawing on his experience and insight, Geshe Rabten provides techniques for everyday living. The teachings are given in Tibetan and translated into English by Venerable Lobsang Dorje, our resident translator.
Everyone is most welcome to attend and there is no need for prior knowledge of Buddhism as Geshe-la makes his advice very accessible. At the end of each evening Geshe-la invites questions from the students.

As Geshe-la will be teaching this text over an extensive period it is recommended for people to obtain a copy of the text. If you already have a translation of the entire text then do bring that with you. Several excellent translations are available to purchase directly from Atisha Centre’s shop - Lama's Dharma Shop. We are offering a 20% discount to people attending these teachings.
The class is held in our main meditation room. The teachings concentrate on a particular text and are ongoing each week. However you may join the class at any time, as each evening presents relevant and practical guidance for all.
